  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 whole chicken

Directions

Step 1
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and rub it all over with olive oil.
Step 2
In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme.

Rub the spice mixture all over the chicken, including inside the cavity.
Step 4
Place the trivet in the Instant Pot and pour in the chicken broth.
Step 5
Place the chicken on the trivet, breast side up.
Step 6
Seal the Instant Pot and cook on high pressure for 24 minutes.

Allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes, then quick release any remaining pressure.
Step 8
If you prefer crispy skin, transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and broil in the oven for 5-10 minutes until the skin is golden and crispy.
