Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 100 g dried apricots
  • 50 g hibiscus flowers
  • 60 ml lime juice
  • 100 g prunes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 200 g sugar
  • 500 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Combine dried apricots, prunes, dried hibiscus flowers, and water in a saucepan.
Step 2
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes until the fruits are soft.
Step 3
Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Step 4
Blend the mixture until smooth.
Step 5
Strain the blended mixture through a fine sieve to remove any solids.
Step 6
Return the strained mixture to the saucepan and add sugar, lime juice, chili powder, and salt.
Step 7
Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens to a syrupy consistency, about 10 minutes.
Step 8
Allow the sauce to cool completely before transferring it to a bottle or jar.
