Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add the chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook until the onion is translucent.

Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.

Spread the cooked beef mixture evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls.

Place the cheddar cheese slices over the beef mixture.
