Simple Pavlova

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 4 egg whites
  • 300 ml heavy cream
  • 200 g mixed fresh fruits
  • 200 g sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp white vinegar

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 150°C (300°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form.
Step 3
Gradually add the caster sugar, one spoonful at a time, and continue beating until the mixture is smooth and glossy.
Step 4
Gently fold in the cornstarch, white vinegar, and vanilla extract.
Step 5
Spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and shape into a circle with slightly raised edges.
Step 6
Bake for 60 minutes, then turn off the oven and let the Pavlova cool completely inside the oven with the door slightly ajar.
Step 7
Whip the heavy cream with 2 tablespoons of sugar until soft peaks form.
Step 8
Once the Pavlova is completely cool, top with whipped cream and fresh fruits before serving.
