Melt the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add the shallots and garlic, and sauté until fragrant and translucent, about 2-3 minutes.

Add the mushrooms and cook until they have released their moisture and are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.

Pour in the Marsala wine and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the wine has reduced slightly.

Add the chicken broth and continue to simmer for another 5 minutes.
