  • 0.5 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1.5 kg pork shoulder
  • 1 tbsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Cut the pork shoulder into large chunks.
Step 2
In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar.
Step 3
Rub the spice mixture all over the pork pieces.
Step 4
Set the Instant Pot to 'Sauté' mode and add a bit of oil.
Step 5
Sear the pork pieces in batches until browned on all sides.
Step 6
Turn off 'Sauté' mode and add apple cider vinegar and chicken broth to the pot.
Step 7
Close the lid, set the valve to 'Sealing', and cook on 'Manual' high pressure for 60 minutes.
Step 8
Allow the pressure to release naturally for 15 minutes, then perform a quick release.
Step 9
Remove the pork from the Instant Pot and shred with two forks.
Step 10
Optional: Return the shredded pork to the pot and stir it into the juices before serving.
