  • 60 g all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 60 g butter
  • 225 g cheddar cheese
  • 225 g elbow macaroni
  • 240 ml heavy cream
  • 480 ml milk
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 50 g parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Step 3
Add the flour to the melted butter and stir constantly for about 2 minutes to create a roux.
Step 4
Slowly whisk in the milk and heavy cream, continuing to stir until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken.

Reduce heat to low and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and grated parmesan cheese until fully melted and smooth.
Step 6
Season the cheese sauce with salt, black pepper, and paprika. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.
Step 8
Serve immediately, garnished with extra cheese or a sprinkle of paprika if desired.
