  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 50 g butter
  • 250 g cheddar cheese
  • 200 g elbow macaroni
  • 30 g flour
  • 250 ml milk
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir continuously until a smooth paste forms, about 2 minutes.

Slowly add the milk to the butter-flour mixture, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.

Add the shredded cheddar cheese to the saucepan and stir until fully melted and smooth.

Season the cheese sauce with salt and black pepper.
