A delicious and crispy chicken katsu served with a savory sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.
Directions
Step 1
Season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Place the flour in a shallow dish. Beat the eggs in another shallow dish. Place the panko breadcrumbs in a third shallow dish.
Step 3
Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip them in the beaten eggs, then coat them with panko breadcrumbs, pressing the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to adhere well.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, fry the chicken breasts until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
Step 5
Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
Step 6
Slice the chicken katsu into strips and serve with tonkatsu sauce on the side.
