Step 1
In a large bowl, mix together the olive oil, soy sauce, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and Worcestershire sauce.

Place the tri-tip roast in the bowl and rub the marinade all over the meat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

Preheat your grill to high heat.

Remove the tri-tip roast from the marinade and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before grilling.

Place the tri-tip on the grill and sear each side for about 5 minutes to get a nice crust.

Reduce the heat to medium and continue to grill, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 54°C for medium-rare, about 20-25 minutes.
