Ingredients

  • 4 potatoes
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 cups vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips.
Step 2
Soak the potato strips in cold water for at least 30 minutes, then drain and pat dry with paper towels.
Step 3
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or deep fryer to 175°C (350°F).
Step 4
Fry the potato strips in batches for about 3-4 minutes until they are light golden. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Step 5
Increase the oil temperature to 190°C (375°F) and fry the potatoes again in batches for another 2-3 minutes until they are crispy and golden brown.
Step 6
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
Step 7
Serve hot and enjoy your homemade French fries!
