Ingredients

  • 60 g flour
  • 30 ml oil
  • 1 onion
  • 900 g round steak
  • 5 g salt
  • 475 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Cut the round steak into serving-sized pieces and season with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Dredge the steak pieces in flour, shaking off excess.
Step 3
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 4
Brown the steak pieces on both sides until golden brown.
Step 5
Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Step 6
In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook until tender.
Step 7
Return the steak to the skillet and add water.
Step 8
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 1-1.5 hours until the steak is tender.

Serve the steak with gravy over mashed potatoes or rice.
