  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tbsp black peppercorns
  • 1 cabbage
  • 500 g carrots
  • 1.5 kg corned beef brisket
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds
  • 1 onion
  • 500 g potatoes
  • 2 liters water

Directions

Step 1
Place the corned beef brisket in a large pot and cover with water.
Step 2
Add the onion, garlic, bay leaves, black peppercorns, and mustard seeds to the pot.
Step 3
Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 2.5 hours.
Step 4
Add the carrots and potatoes to the pot and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes.
Step 5
Add the cabbage wedges and simmer for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
Step 6
Remove the corned beef from the pot and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Step 7
Serve the sliced corned beef with the cooked vegetables.
