Classic Shrimp Toast

Ingredients

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 egg white
  • 2 green onion
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 250 g shrimp
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • vegetable oil
  • 6 slices white bread

Directions

Step 1
In a food processor, combine the shrimp, egg white, cornstarch, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Process until smooth.
Step 2
Transfer the shrimp mixture to a bowl and fold in the finely chopped green onions.
Step 3
Spread the shrimp paste evenly over the bread slices.
Step 4
Cut each slice into 4 triangles.
Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 180°C (350°F).
Step 6
Fry the shrimp toast pieces, shrimp-side down, until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Then flip and fry the other side for another 1-2 minutes until golden and crispy.
Step 7
Remove the shrimp toast from the oil and drain on paper towels.
Step 8
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
