Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove from skillet, crumble, and set aside.

In the same skillet, add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

Stir in the tomato paste, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a boil.
