Ingredients

  • 1 bay leaf
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 60 g butter
  • 0.5 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 240 ml chicken broth
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 2 green onions
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tbsp parsley
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 900 g shrimp
  • 240 ml tomato sauce
  • 800 g tomatoes

Directions

Step 1
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and celery. Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 3
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Step 4
Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, chicken broth, cayenne pepper, bay leaf, salt, and black pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.
Step 5
Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6
Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they are pink and opaque, about 5-7 minutes.
Step 7
Stir in the chopped green onions, parsley, lemon juice, and hot sauce. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Step 8
Remove the bay leaf and serve the Shrimp Creole over cooked rice.
