Directions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).
Step 2
Roll out the shortcrust pastry and line a 23cm tart tin. Trim any excess pastry.
Step 3
In a saucepan, gently heat the golden syrup until it becomes more liquid.
Step 4
Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the breadcrumbs, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
Step 5
Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then stir in the beaten egg until well combined.
Step 6
Pour the mixture into the pastry-lined tin and spread evenly.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the pastry is golden brown.
Step 8
Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving.
