Ingredients

  • 2 bay leaves
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 800 g diced tomatoes
  • 240 g elbow macaroni
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 900 g ground beef
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 30 ml soy sauce
  • 850 ml tomato sauce
  • 470 ml water

Directions

Step 1
In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.
Step 2
Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Stir in water, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, soy sauce, Italian seasoning, bay leaves, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a boil.
Step 4
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 5
Stir in elbow macaroni, cover, and simmer for an additional 20 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
Step 6
Remove bay leaves and serve hot.
