  • 480 grams all-purpose flour
  • 225 grams butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 120 ml water

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
Step 2
Add the cubed butter to the flour mixture and use a pastry cutter or your hands to mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 3
In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, water, and vinegar.
Step 4
Pour the wet ingredients into the flour mixture and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 5
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead briefly to bring it together. Form into a ball and flatten into a disk.
Step 6
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before using.
Step 7
Roll out the dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness and cut into circles for empanadas.
