A traditional French side dish of pan-fried potatoes and onions, perfect for accompanying any main course. These potatoes are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a rich, savory flavor from the caramelized onions and butter.
Directions
Step 1
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices.
Step 2
Peel and thinly slice the onion.
Step 3
Heat 30g of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 4
Add the onion slices and cook until they are caramelized, about 10 minutes. Remove the onions from the skillet and set aside.
Step 5
Add the remaining butter and olive oil to the skillet.
Step 6
Add the potato slices in a single layer, season with salt and pepper, and cook until they are golden brown and crispy, about 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Step 7
Add the caramelized onions back to the skillet along with the minced garlic. Stir to combine and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
Step 8
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
