Peel and grate the potatoes. Place them in a clean kitchen towel and squeeze out excess moisture.

Combine grated potatoes, finely chopped onion, beaten egg, flour, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl. Mix well.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Scoop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the skillet, flattening them into small cakes.

Fry each potato cake for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
