Directions
Step 1
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 20 minutes, then drain.
Step 2
Heat the ghee in a pot over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds until fragrant.
Step 3
Add the drained rice to the pot and stir gently to coat the rice with the ghee and cumin seeds.
Step 4
Add the water and salt to the pot. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15-20 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Step 5
Fluff the rice with a fork and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
