4 Servings
  • 10 g basil
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 500 g gnocchi
  • 200 g mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 50 g Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 g tomato sauce

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F).
Step 2
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the gnocchi until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
Step 3
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Step 4
Add the tomato sauce to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 5
Stir in the fresh basil leaves and remove the skillet from heat.
Step 6
In a baking dish, spread a layer of the tomato sauce on the bottom. Add half of the cooked gnocchi, then half of the diced mozzarella and half of the grated Parmesan cheese.
Step 7
Repeat with another layer of sauce, gnocchi, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
Step 8
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Step 9
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with additional basil leaves if desired.
