Homemade Runzas

Runzas are delicious stuffed pastries filled with seasoned ground beef, cabbage, and onions, perfect for a hearty meal or snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg bread dough
  • 500 g cabbage
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
Step 3
Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened.
Step 4
Stir in the shredded cabbage, salt, and pepper. Cook until the cabbage is wilted.
Step 5
Roll out each portion of bread dough into a rectangle.
Step 6
Place a portion of the meat mixture in the center of each rectangle.
Step 7
Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges to seal.
Step 8
Place the runzas on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Step 9
Cool slightly before serving.
