Kibbeh is a traditional Middle Eastern dish made from bulgur, minced onions, and finely ground lean beef, lamb, goat, or camel meat with Middle Eastern spices. It's often served as an appetizer or a main dish.
Directions
Step 1
Soak the bulgur in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain and squeeze out excess water.
Step 2
In a pan, heat the olive oil and sauté the chopped onion until golden.
Step 3
Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.
Step 4
Mix in the pine nuts, salt, pepper, cinnamon, and allspice. Cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 5
In a large bowl, combine the soaked bulgur with the cooked beef mixture. Mix well.
Step 6
Form the mixture into oval-shaped patties or balls.
Step 7
Heat oil in a large frying pan and fry the kibbeh patties until browned and crispy on all sides.
Step 8
Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs or yogurt on the side if desired.
