Place the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a saucepan.

Add enough water to the saucepan to cover the eggs by about an inch.

Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once the water is boiling, turn off the heat and cover the saucepan with a lid.

Let the eggs sit in the hot water for 9-12 minutes, depending on how firm you want the yolks.
