  • 500 g carp fillet
  • 1 carrot
  • 2 egg
  • 100 g matzo meal
  • 1 onion
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 500 g pike fillet
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2000 ml water
  • 500 g whitefish fillet

Directions

Step 1
Grind the carp, whitefish, and pike fillets together with the onion.
Step 2
Grate the carrot and add it to the fish mixture.
Step 3
Add eggs, matzo meal, salt, sugar, and pepper to the mixture. Mix thoroughly.
Step 4
Form the mixture into oval-shaped patties.
Step 5
Bring the water to a boil in a large pot.
Step 6
Carefully add the fish patties to the boiling water.
Step 7
Reduce heat and simmer for 1.5 hours.
Step 8
Remove the patties from the water and let them cool.
Step 9
Serve chilled, typically with horseradish.
