  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 4 egg whites
  • 200 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 110°C (230°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2
In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until they form soft peaks.
Step 3
Gradually add the granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat the mixture.
Step 4
Add the cream of tartar and vanilla extract, and continue to beat the mixture until it forms stiff, glossy peaks.
Step 5
Using a piping bag or a spoon, shape the meringue mixture into small mounds or desired shapes on the prepared baking sheet.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside to cool completely, which could take another hour.
