Classic Popovers

These light and airy popovers are perfect for breakfast or as a side dish. They are easy to make and require only a few simple ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 125 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 240 milliliters milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 230°C (450°F). Place a popover pan or muffin tin in the oven to preheat.
Step 2
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
Step 3
In another bowl, whisk the eggs until pale and frothy. Gradually add the milk and melted butter, continuing to whisk until well combined.
Step 4
Slowly pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking until just combined. Do not overmix.
Step 5
Remove the preheated pan from the oven and quickly spray it with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 6
Fill each cup about halfway with the batter.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, then reduce the heat to 175°C (350°F) and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the popovers are golden brown and puffed.
Step 8
Immediately remove the popovers from the pan and serve warm.
