Directions
Step 1
Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Step 2
In a small bowl, soak the saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm water for 10 minutes.
Step 3
In a large pot, bring the 3.5 cups of water to a boil. Add the butter and salt.
Step 4
Stir in the rinsed basmati rice and the saffron mixture, including the soaking liquid.
Step 5
Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
Step 6
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
