  • 900 g beef stew meat
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 green bell pepper
  • 1 onion
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 400 g tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 240 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

Add the beef stew meat and brown on all sides.
Step 3
Remove the meat from the pot and set it aside.
Step 4
In the same pot, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and chopped green bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

Return the browned beef to the pot.

Stir in the diced tomatoes, water, ground cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper.

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low.

Cover and simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and the sauce has thickened.
