These classic lemon bars are the perfect combination of tangy and sweet with a buttery crust and a smooth lemon filling. Ideal for a refreshing dessert.

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

In a medium bowl, mix together 200g of all-purpose flour, 50g of powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt.

Cut in the softened unsalted butter until the mixture is crumbly. Press this mixture into the bottom of your prepared pan.

Bake the crust for 15-20 minutes, or until it is lightly golden.

In another bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and the eggs until smooth. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, and 30g of flour until well combined.
Step 6
Pour this lemon mixture over the baked crust.
Step 7
Return to the oven and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the filling is set.
Step 8
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares to serve.
