Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess water. Cut it into 1-inch cubes.

In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the tofu cubes and gently toss to coat evenly.

Sprinkle the cornstarch over the tofu and toss gently to coat.
