Ingredients

  • 15 grams butter
  • 100 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 5 ml vanilla extract
  • 200 grams walnuts
  • 60 ml water

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 2
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 3
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until the sugar dissolves completely.
Step 4
Add the butter, vanilla extract, and salt to the sugar mixture. Stir until the butter melts and everything is well combined.
Step 5
Add the walnuts to the saucepan and stir to coat them evenly with the sugar mixture.
Step 6
Spread the coated walnuts onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
Step 7
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Step 8
Remove from the oven and let the walnuts cool completely. They will harden as they cool.
Step 9
Once completely cooled, break the walnuts apart if they are stuck together and store them in an airtight container.
