Ingredients

  • 10 basil leaves
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 800 g crushed tomatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 120 ml heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 50 g parmesan cheese
  • 400 g pasta
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60 ml vodka

Directions

Step 1
Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Step 3
Add the finely chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Step 4
Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Pour in the crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Stir in the vodka and let it cook for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.
Step 7
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Cook until the sauce is well combined and heated through.
Step 8
Add the grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
Step 9
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
Step 10
Garnish with chopped fresh basil leaves before serving.
