A nutritious and easy-to-make lentil dish, perfect as a main course or side dish.
Directions
Step 1
Wash the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Drain the water and add the moong dal to a pressure cooker along with 500ml of water, turmeric powder, and salt.
Step 3
Pressure cook the dal for 3-4 whistles or until it becomes soft and mushy.
Step 4
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Step 5
Add finely chopped garlic, green chilies, and onions. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.
Step 6
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook until they become soft.
Step 7
Add the cooked moong dal to the pan and mix well. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes.
Step 8
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
