Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup white vinegar
  • 4 liters whole milk

Directions

Step 1
Pour the whole milk into a large pot and heat it over medium heat until it reaches 85°C (185°F).
Step 2
Remove the pot from the heat and slowly stir in the white vinegar. You should see the milk begin to curdle.
Step 3
Let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes to allow the curds to fully form.
Step 4
Line a colander with cheesecloth and carefully pour the curdled milk into it, allowing the whey to drain away.
Step 5
Gather the cheesecloth around the curds and gently squeeze out any excess whey.
Step 6
Transfer the curds to a bowl and add the salt. Mix until well combined.
Step 7
Shape the cheese into a ball or press it into a mold, then refrigerate for at least an hour before serving.
