  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 grated carrots
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 head shredded cabbage
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup white vinegar

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrots, and sliced onion.
Step 2
In a separate bowl, mix the white vinegar, water, dried oregano, salt, sugar, and red pepper flakes until the salt and sugar are dissolved.
Step 3
Pour the vinegar mixture over the vegetables and toss to combine.
Step 4
Cover the bowl and let it sit at room temperature for at least 1 hour, or refrigerate for up to 24 hours for a more intense flavor.
Step 5
Before serving, toss the slaw again and drain any excess liquid.
