A rich and creamy Filipino dessert made with egg yolks, milk, and sugar, traditionally steamed to perfection.
Directions
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the sugar until it turns into a golden caramel. Quickly pour the caramel into a flan mold, coating the bottom evenly.
Step 3
In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Pour the egg mixture into the flan mold over the caramel.
Step 5
Place the flan mold in a larger baking dish and fill the larger dish with hot water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan mold.
Step 6
Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes or until the flan is set.

Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Step 8
To serve, run a knife around the edges of the flan to loosen it and invert onto a serving plate.
