A quick and easy recipe for Chicken Marsala, a classic Italian-American dish. Tender chicken breasts are cooked with mushrooms in a rich Marsala wine sauce. Perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.
Directions
Step 1
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
Step 2
Dredge the chicken in flour, shaking off any excess.
Step 3
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat.
Step 4
Cook the chicken breasts until golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Step 5
In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.
Step 7
Pour in the Marsala wine and chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
Step 8
Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the sauce has reduced by half, about 10 minutes.
Step 9
Stir in the heavy cream and return the chicken breasts to the skillet.
Step 10
Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.
Step 11
Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
