Directions
Step 1
Blanch the tomatoes in boiling water for 1-2 minutes until the skins start to peel away.
Step 2
Transfer the tomatoes to a bowl of ice water to cool, then peel off the skins.

Chop the peeled tomatoes and set aside.

Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.

Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Stir in the chopped tomatoes, salt, black pepper, basil leaves, oregano, and sugar.

Simmer the sauce on low heat for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens.
