  • 500 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 10 grams instant yeast
  • 250 milliliters milk
  • 10 grams salt
  • 50 grams sugar
  • 300 grams unsalted butter

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.

Add the milk and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until smooth.

Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Roll out the dough into a large rectangle.

Place the butter in the center of the dough and fold the dough over the butter.

Roll out the dough again and fold it into thirds. Repeat this process 3 more times.

Roll out the dough one final time and cut it into triangles.

Roll each triangle into a crescent shape and place on a baking sheet.

Let the croissants rise for another hour.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).

Brush the croissants with a beaten egg.
