Ingredients

  • 240 ml beef broth
  • 900 g beef round steak
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 400 g diced tomatoes
  • 60 g flour
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1
Preheat your oven to 160°C (325°F).
Step 2
Cut the beef round steak into serving-size pieces.
Step 3
Combine flour, salt, and black pepper in a shallow dish. Dredge the steak pieces in the flour mixture.
Step 4
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the steak pieces on both sides.

Transfer the browned steak to a baking dish.
Step 6
In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute.

Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped bell pepper. Bring to a simmer.

Pour the tomato mixture over the steak in the baking dish.
Step 9
Cover the baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the steak is tender.
