Ingredients

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 80 g butter
  • 7 g dry yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 250 ml milk
  • 10 g salt
  • 50 g sugar

Directions

Step 1
In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and dry yeast.
Step 2
Warm the milk until it's lukewarm. Add the milk and butter to the flour mixture.
Step 3
Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 10 minutes.
Step 4
Cover the bowl with a cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Step 5
Punch down the dough and divide it into equal portions. Shape each portion into a bun and place on a baking sheet.
Step 6
Cover the buns and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
Step 7
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
Step 8
Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the buns.
Step 9
Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 10
Remove the buns from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
