Ingredients

  • 120 ml beer
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices bread
  • 30 g butter
  • 250 g cheddar cheese
  • 30 g flour
  • 240 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions

Step 1
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the flour and cook, stirring, for about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Gradually add the milk and beer, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens.
Step 4
Add the grated cheese, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the mixture is smooth.
Step 5
Toast the bread slices.
Step 6
Pour the cheese mixture over the toasted bread.
Step 7
Place under a hot grill for a few minutes until the top is browned and bubbling.
Step 8
Serve immediately.
