Ingredients

  • 225 g butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 250 g flour
  • 30 g flour
  • 120 ml lemon juice
  • 50 g sugar
  • 300 g sugar

Directions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
Step 2
In a medium bowl, blend together softened butter, 2 cups of flour, and 0.25 cup sugar. Press into the bottom of an ungreased 9x13 inch pan.
Step 3
Bake for 15-20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden.
Step 4
In another bowl, whisk together the remaining 1.5 cups sugar and 0.25 cup flour. Whisk in the eggs and lemon juice. Pour over the baked crust.
Step 5
Bake for an additional 20 minutes in the preheated oven. The bars will firm up as they cool.
Step 6
Allow to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
