Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.5 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 jalapeno pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 240 ml tomato sauce
  • 4 tomatoes

Directions

Step 1
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add the minced garlic and diced jalapeno pepper, and cook for another 2 minutes.
Step 4
Stir in the chopped tomatoes and cook for about 10 minutes, until they start to break down.
Step 5
Add the tomato sauce, ground cumin, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
Step 6
Reduce the heat and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes, until it thickens.
Step 7
Stir in the chopped fresh cilantro just before serving.
