A simple and delicious pasta dish combining cavatelli with broccoli, garlic, and olive oil for a quick and healthy meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 500 g broccoli florets
  • 450 g cavatelli pasta
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 60 ml olive oil
  • 50 g parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions

Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
Step 2
Add the cavatelli pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
Step 3
In the last 5 minutes of pasta cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pot with the pasta.
Step 4
Drain the pasta and broccoli, reserving 1 cup of the pasta water.
Step 5
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
Step 6
Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Step 7
Add the drained pasta and broccoli to the skillet, tossing to combine.
Step 8
Gradually add the reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is achieved.
Step 9
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Step 10
Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
