  • 3 bananas
  • 30 g butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 40 g flour
  • 480 ml milk
  • 1 pie crust
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 150 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 240 ml whipped cream

Directions

Step 1
In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, flour, and salt.
Step 2
Gradually stir in milk, and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture is bubbly and thickened.
Step 3
Cook for 2 more minutes, then remove from heat.
Step 4
Slowly whisk a small amount of the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks, then return all to the saucepan.
Step 5
Cook for 2 more minutes, stirring constantly, then remove from heat.
Step 6
Stir in butter and vanilla extract, and let cool slightly.
Step 7
Arrange sliced bananas in the baked pie crust.
Step 8
Pour the custard mixture over the bananas.
Step 9
Chill in the refrigerator for several hours until set.
Step 10
Top with whipped cream before serving.
