  • 1 avocado
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 cucumber
  • 5 nori sheets
  • pickled ginger
  • 0.5 cups rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups sushi rice
  • 200 grams sushi-grade fish
  • wasabi
  • 2.5 cups water

Directions

Step 1
Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Step 2
Combine the rice and water in a rice cooker and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 3
In a small saucepan, combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat until the sugar and salt dissolve. Let it cool.
Step 4
Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl and gently fold in the vinegar mixture. Allow the rice to cool to room temperature.
Step 5
Place a nori sheet on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin layer of rice over the nori, leaving a small border at the top.
Step 6
Arrange the cucumber, avocado, carrot, and fish slices in a line along the bottom edge of the rice.
Step 7
Use the bamboo mat to carefully roll the sushi into a tight cylinder. Moisten the top border of the nori with water to seal the roll.
Step 8
Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
Step 9
Slice the rolls into bite-sized pieces and serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger.
